SUMMARY:Saint Ignatius the God-Bearer and Saint John of Kronstadt +++ Свети Игњатије Богоносац и Свети Јован Кронштадтски
DESCRIPTION:THE HIEROMARTYR IGNATIUS THE GOD-BEARER \nThis holy man is called “the God-bearer” because he constantly bore the name of the Living God in his heart and on his lips. According to tradition\, he was thus named because he was held in the arms of God Incarnate\, Jesus Christ. On a day when the Lord was teaching His disciples humility\, He took a child and placed him among them\, saying: Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child\, the same is greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven (Matthew 18:4). This child was Ignatius. Later\, Ignatius was a disciple of St. John the Theologian\, together with Polycarp\, Bishop of Smyrna. As Bishop of Antioch\, Ignatius governed the Church of God as a good shepherd and was the first to introduce antiphonal chanting in the Church\, in which two choirs alternate the chanting. This manner of chanting was revealed to St. Ignatius by the angels in heaven. When Emperor Trajan was passing through Antioch on his way to do battle with the Persians\, he heard of Ignatius\, summoned him and counseled him to offer sacrifice to the idols. If Ignatius would do so\, Trajan would bestow upon him the rank of senator. As the counsels and threats of the emperor were in vain\, St. Ignatius was shackled in irons and sent to Rome in the company of ten merciless soldiers\, to be thrown to the wild beasts. Ignatius rejoiced in suffering for his Lord\, only praying to God that the wild beasts would become the tomb for his body and that no one would prevent him from this death. After a long and difficult journey from Asia through Thrace\, Macedonia and Epirus\, Ignatius arrived in Rome\, where he was thrown to the lions in the circus. The lions tore him to pieces and devoured him\, leaving only several of the larger bones and his heart. This glorious lover of the Lord Christ suffered in the year 106 A.D. in Rome at the time of the Christ-hating Emperor Trajan. Ignatius has appeared many times from the other world and worked miracles\, even to this day helping all who call upon him for help. \n+++ \nСВЕШТЕНОМУЧЕНИК ИГЊАТИЈЕ БОГОНОСАЦ \nБогоносцем назван је овај свети муж зато што је стално у срцу и на језику носио име Бога живога. А још\, по предању\, назван је он Богоносцем и зато што је био узет рукама Бога ваплоћеног Исуса Христа. У оне дане када Господ учаше ученике своје смерности\, узе једно дете и ставивши га међу њих\, рече им: „Који се\, дакле\, понизи као дијете ово\, онај је највећи у Царству небеском“ (Мт 18\, 4). То дете био је Игњатије. Доцније Игњатије беше учеником у светог Јована Богослова\, заједно с Поликарпом\, епископом смирнским. Као епископ у Антиохији он управљаше црквом Божјом као пастир добри\, и први уведе антифонски начин појања у цркви\, тј. појања за две певнице тако да кад појање на једној страни престане на другој почиње. Такав начин појања откри се светом Игњатију међу ангелима на небесима. Када цар Трајан пролажаше кроз Антиохију идући у рат против Персијанаца\, дознаде за Игњатија\, призва га к себи и поче саветовати\, да принесе жртву идолима\, па ће му он дати звање сенатора. Како узалудни осташе и савети и претње цареве\, Игњатије свети би окован у гвожђе и у пратњи десет немилосрдних војника послат у Рим\, да буде бачен пред зверове. Игњатије се радоваше страдању за Господа свога и само се мољаше Богу\, да зверови буду гроб његовом телу\, и да га нико не спречи у тој смрти. После дугог и тешког путовања из Азије преко Тракије\, Македоније и Епира\, Игњатије приспе у Рим\, где би бачен пред лавове у циркусу. Лавови га растргоше и изедоше\, оставивши само неколико већих костију и срце. Пострада овај славни љубитељ Господа Христа 106. године у Риму за време христоборног цара Трајана. Јављао се више пута из онога света и чинио чудеса помажући све до данас свакоме ко га призива у помоћ.

DESCRIPTION:THE HOLY MARTYRS SERGIUS AND BACCHUS \nThese holy and wonderful martyrs and heroes of the Christian Faith were at first noblemen at the court of Emperor Maximian. The emperor himself esteemed them greatly because of their courage\, wisdom and fidelity. But when the emperor heard that his two noblemen were Christians\, his love for them turned into rage. Once\, when there was a great sacrificial offering to idols\, the emperor demanded that Sergius and Bacchus offer sacrifices with him\, but they openly refused to obey the emperor in this. Beside himself with rage\, the emperor commanded that their military garments\, rings and emblems be stripped from them and that they be dressed in women’s clothing. He then placed iron hoops around their necks and paraded them through the streets of the city of Rome\, to be mocked by everyone. Afterward\, he sent them to Antiochus\, his deputy in Asia\, for torture. Antiochus had risen to his position with Sergius and Bacchus’s help\, as they had at one time recommended him to the emperor. When Antiochus implored them to deny Christ and save themselves from dishonorable suffering and death\, these saints replied: “Both honor and dishonor\, both life and death–all are the same to him who seeks the Heavenly Kingdom.” Antiochus cast Sergius into prison and ordered that Bacchus be tortured first. His minions took turns beating the holy Bacchus until his whole body was broken. Bacchus’s holy soul departed his broken and bloodied body\, and in the hands of angels was borne to the Lord. St. Bacchus suffered in the town of Barbalissos. Then St. Sergius was led out and shod in iron shoes with inward-protruding nails. He was driven\, on foot\, to the town of Rozapha\, in Syria\, and was beheaded there with the sword. His soul went to Paradise where\, together with his friend Bacchus\, he received a crown of immortal glory from Christ\, his King and Lord. These two wondrous knights of the Christian Faith suffered in about the year 303 A.D. \n+++ \nСВЕТИ МУЧЕНИЦИ СЕРГИЈЕ И ВАКХО \nОви свети и дивни мученици и јунаци вере Христове беху најпре први великаши на двору цара Максимијана. И сам их цар уважаваше много због храбрости\, мудрости и верности. Али кад чу цар\, да су ова два великаша његова хришћани\, промени љубав своју према њима на гнев. И једном када беше велико жртвоприношење идолима цар позва Сергија и Вакха\, да заједно с њима жртве принесу\, али они отворено отказаше цару послушност у томе. Ван себе од јарости цар нареди\, те свукоше с њих војничко одело\, и прстење\, и одликовања\, и обукоше их у женске хаљине; још им метнуше гвоздене обруче о врат\, и тако их вођаху улицама града Рима на подсмех свима и свакоме. По том их посла цар у Азију\, своме намеснику Антиоху\, на истјазање. А овај Антиох беше се и дигао до тога положаја помоћу Сергија и Вакха\, који га у своје време препоручише цару. Када их Антиох поче саветовати\, да се одрекну Христа\, и да себе спасу бешчешћа мука и смрти\, одговорише ови светитељи: „и чест и бешчешће\, и живот и смрт – све је једно ономе ко иште царства небескога.“ Антиох баци Сергија у тамницу\, и нареди прво да се мучи Вакх. Слуге се мењаху један за другим тукући Вакха светога\, све док му цело тело не раздробише. Из раздробљеног и крвавог тела св. Вакха изађе душа његова света и на рукама ангелским оде Господу. Пострада св. Вакх у граду Варвалису. Тада Сергије свети би изведен\, и обувен у гвоздене опанке\, с начичканим ексерима\, па тако отеран у град Росаф у Сирију\, и тамо мачем посечен; и душа му оде у Рај\, да тамо заједно са Вакхом\, другом својим\, приме венце славе бесмртне од Христа Цара к Господа свога. Пострадаше ови красни витези вере Христове око 303. г.
